art movement: Fruit Crate

I interpreted these words through the myth of Persephone and Demeter. Demeter, goddess of the harvest, whose daughter, Persephone, the beautiful goddess of the underworld, was abducted by Hades. Upon her return to the earth, Hades gave Persephone a pomegranate from which she ate six seeds. For each seed she was to spend a month in the land of the dead with Hades. During these months, the distressed Demeter refused to let anything grow on earth.

The three seeds represent fall and the first half of Persephone's sentence.
